Darrick experienced anxiety relating to trying new things or overwhelming, intense environments. Darrick participated in retail training at Goodwill and now hopes to find employment in the community. Darrick is blazing a trail for his family and friends to explore the benefits of community employment.
Jill was in a horrific car accident where she had to relearn basic skills we take for granted.Through the help of Goodwill, she was able to deal with the consequences of her injuries and find work at our Clinton Store Jill exemplifies the word ‘survivor’ and has overcome multiple obstacles in her life to become an excellent employee.
Scott is eager to work and his supervisors and co-workers appreciate having him on their crews. Scott overcame his anxiety and works hard to improve his concentration. Scott comes in EVERYDAY with a fantastic attitude and he has a positive impact on those that have the pleasure to be around him.
Liz has been with Goodwill since 1977. Over the years she struggled staying on task and taking direction from others.Now she has persevered to improve almost every aspect of her job performance and lifestyle. Today she’s a valued member of our Washington Store is retail team.
Patty set a goal that she was going to change her life, recapturing a life she could be proud of. As of February 24, Patty graduated the Linn County Drug Treatment Court program. This long and difficult program requires commitment and additional responsibilities. Not only did Patty complete the program, but she did so in the least possible time, with no setbacks, and with extremely positive feedback from her program supervisors.
