With all the uncertainty in our future, it might seem a strange time to start a blog, but we think it’s a great time. With social-distancing and self-quarantining being the “new normal” perhaps you are tackling some home projects you’ve been putting off?

If one of those projects was cleaning out your closets to make room for summer, you’re not alone. Our donation drive-throughs have been exceptionally busy since we reopened. If you are a shopper, this is good news. It means selection in our stores will be amazing - new treasures every day from the best donations brought to our doorstep.

A reminder that when visiting our stores, you will need to wear a face mask. Here is a summary of other safety policies in place in our effort to protect you and our team during this time.

Now let’s talk about why you should subscribe to this blog:

First, we will be highlighting product categories in our stores that might not be “top-of-mind” when you shop, but are definitely worth checking out. We will also alert you to seasonal items when they are being stocked in our stores. You may not know it, but we collect "the best of the best" seasonal donations (St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, Christmas, spring-summer-fall-winter apparel, etc.) throughout the year so we can offer you the very best savings and selection on clothing and household goods for a fraction of what they would cost new.

Secondly, this blog will provide a steady stream of tips and tricks to get the most out of items you will find in our stores. This includes DIY projects, crafts, and tips for shopping Goodwill online at www.shopgoodwill.com.

Finally, we will inform you about things you probably never realized Goodwill was involved with. After all, we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of others through the power of work. We also are HUGELY committed to protecting our environment by diverting items from landfills and recycling almost everything we are unable to sell in our stores.

It will also be stuff to watch. Some of our content will be shared as helpful and informative videos including DIY how-to’s, sustainable fashion and more.

Oh, and one more thing! We want to pass along the weekly "Finding Your Good" podcast from our sister Goodwill in Washington D.C.  The podcast is full of tips, "how-to's" and advice on getting the most out of your thrifting experience. Check it out!

Thanks for visiting our blog.

We'll do our best to make sure it's always worth your time.
